Did you know it took me like, seven years to decide what the heck I “wanted to be when I grew up”? I started as a Pre-Vet student. Then quickly realized that even though I love animals, I can’t stand stupid people who don’t take care of them. Funny enough, I still deal with that in the dog rescue world 😩. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I quickly changed my degree to geology. Let’s all take a big breath and then hold it. By the time you need to take a breath again, that’s how long I was a geology major. The day my professor asked us to lick a rock & see if it tasted salty, was the day I left class. 😂😂😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Next up, dentistry. Good lord- where was I going with this?? I told y’all. S E V E N YEARS. But don’t worry, we are ALMOST there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I took a break from school. Because, WHAT was I even doing? And during that break I finally chose nursing. I didn’t choose it because of some “calling” I had. I chose it because it turns out I’m pretty good at taking care of people, blood/guts/poop/pee truly doesn’t bother me AND the flexibility was JUST what I needed to pursue my dream: modeling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m telling you all of this because I don’t want you to lose hope. Whatever that inner dream of yours is, sometimes it takes a while to get going. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your time or something else in order to achieve it. I’m finally to a place where I’m able to pursue something much bigger and I’m SO excited to start this new journey. Thank God for all my friends & family who stayed by me during my extremely indecisive years. 😂✌🏼
Lindsey Shelton, a 27-year-old nurse from the US shared a peanut butter hack on TikTok for trimming a dog’s nails with ease. If you are a pet parent, you will know how impossible this task seems as not all dogs will give you their paws in peace.
Shelton uses a smart tactic to keep the dog distracted while she can cut the nails. She wraps her head with plastic and then applies peanut butter on her forehead. She mentions that the peanut butter she uses is free of Xylitol, a sweetener that is dangerous for dogs. When she sits down, her dog goes straight for the peanut butter and starts licking while Shelton clips those nails.
If you are wondering how it turned out, it was 100% effective!
The video has more than 2 million views and many dog owners are now trying out this hack after watching her video and sharing their experience online. Praises were pouring in for Shelton with people calling her a genius! and even professional groomers agreed.
She is even thinking of selling this hack as a product!
Shelton and her husband are traveling nurses and they are currently assisting with the COVID-19 pandemic wherever necessary. Shelton says that she is always surrounded by at least 4 dogs but due to lack of space in their RV they have just two dogs with them, Murphy and Schmidt.
Shelton regularly fosters dogs and wishes she could have 87 of them around here! She also uses this attention to ask people to foster shelter dogs.
With everything being closed now, you need to play the groomer’s role with your furry friends and this hack is a good start!
